Gladewhisper loved the hills. She longed to stand atop the mountians of Summitclan - though she was far to loyal to wish she had been born to that clan. There were only a few hills in Prarieclan, the camp in between them. Gladewhisper spent allot of her time there - the wind in her fur, the rolling land like waves in the ocean - she couldn't stay away. But of course she had to go back now. She had a plump rabbit in her mouth and her jaw was already getting sore just from holding it. She padded down the hill, her paws moving rapidly. She was very fast - even when walking, she was quite difficult to keep up with. It was no doubt due to her lengthy body, the same as her brother. Her and him looked very much alike, though he was a bit taller. They had the same short, glossy black fur, long tail, the vivid yellow eyes. Gladewhisper loved the eyes they shared. Yellowc was her favorite color, after all. She sometimes took breif looks at the sun, and wished her eyes were that yellow, that bright. But then it would hurt to look at her, and she didn't want that. It was a loose-loose.

Harrierstar stood on the HighBoulder, which was a very large rock with some hollowed-out bushes that make for his den. They allow him to walk around in there, and the floor is lined with moss and leaves, and it shields him from the rain and other kinds of weather. Now the tom was standing outside of his den, gazing down at his Clan's camp, and the valleys around it that stretched on until it reached the other Clans' territories.

A light grey figure emerged from the warriors den. His tail flicked back and forth in excitment. He couldn't wait to start out the day. Purring to himself, Littlestone glanced around the camp, and spoted the leader, Harrierstar, sitting on High Bolder. Giving a respectful nod, he dicided that because he wasn't told to go on any patrols today, why not get out of camp? It was a nice day, anyways. Smiling, he dashed toward the entrance. Though where most cats in PrarieClan had long legs, his weren't as long, making him have to make more effort to run on the open prarie. Shaking his fur to rid it of any moss that may have stayed on, he looked around him, and spotted Gladewhisper with a rabbit in her jaws. Diciding that it wouldn't be too good to talk to her, he just continued on his way. [/center]

Gladewhisper noticed Littlestone pass by her. She couldn't call out to him to say hi due to the rabbit in her mouth, so she waved her tail in greeting. She didn't think he saw. It didn't matter. She hurried into camp, and set her prey down on the fresh-kill pile. She dipped her head in respect to Harrierstar, who she noticed on the highboulder. "Goodmorning, Harrierstar!" She mewed.

Harrierstar glanced down when he heard his name called. He saw Gladewhisper, his friend since he was an apprentice. Nodding towards her, he leaped down from the boulder and padded up to his Clanmate.
"Hello, Gladewhisper," he greeted. "How's the prey running for you?"

"Alright, I supose." Gladewhisper mewed, her yellow eyes flickering to the rabbit she had caught, atop the freshkill pile. For a moment it looked like a king to her, a ruler of all those other dead animals, but after that fleeting second the thought seemed silly. She looked back at her leader. "But due to the good weather we've been thanking starclan for all year, the grass is much taller than usual, which makes everything a bit harder." It was true - it hadn't gotten too hot and they'd had a good amot of rain since leaf-bare. The grass was aher head, whereas it was usually just below her shoulder.

Harrierstar nodded.
"Yeah, I've noticed that too," he meowed, "Rain is better than a drought, but it still doesn't help us much." He smiled, then cast his gaze toward the camp entrance. "I know you just got back from hunting, but would you like to be in a border patrol? I'm going to lead it. We can find a couple more cats to join us too."

"I'd be honored." Gladewhisper mewed. She had only caught one rabbit after all and, despite it's size, it would only feed at most two cats. "Who should we bring allong?" She asked. (argh writer's block!) ((Oh, I forgot to mention Gigi, as leader, you have to desscribe the camp in detail. Just keep in mind that its nestled between two hills.))

Dawnpelt sat in the bright sun of the open prairie.A light breeze blew, ruffling her bright fur.The faint scent of prey drifted. She stood, inconspicuously, and traced the scent to it's strongest point. She turned, crouched, and pounced killing the rabbit with a quick bite on the neck.

Harrierstar smiled. "Great," he meowed. "Okay, then...let's round up some cats for the patrol! Know anyone you want to come along?" He couldn't help but feel like an apprentice asking his mentor where to hunt or something like that. He was an extremely young leader, but he was brave and determined, and very intellegent for his age. Some of the elders and even some of the warriors were skeptical of him, but they had no choice. The deputy has to become leader when the leader dies, and in this case, that all happened way to fast.
((Yeah, I know, Leo, but I've been procrastinating and putting it off, lol. =] But I have a pretty good idea of what it looks like, so I'll write it soon, don't worry. :]))

"A hunting patrol?" A small gray cat came up to the leader and warrior, his eyes set on the two cats. Across his pelt were dark specks, almost like spilled poppy seeds, though his tail and face were striped like a tabby cat. That was what was unusual about him; his father was a tabby, though his mother had a speckled pelt like he did, the two cats creating the young apprentice that was staring at Harrierstar and Gladewhisper. "C-Can I join?" for a moment his voice quavered; he had to stop, swallow, and start up again. Specklepaw was horrible when it came to talking with cats above his rank. However, he wanted to hunt; it was yesterday at sunhigh since he last did so, and the time between then and now was just too much.

Harrierstar smiled and nodded. "Yeah, great. Join away!" he meowed. "We only need a couple more cats, then. Maybe one or possibly two."

"Thank you, Harrierstar," Specklepaw mumbled, sitting down and starting wipipng his face, trying to hide his nervousness. He wasn't usually this angsty, though being with older cats did make him like this. He hoped that Lillypaw would go on the hunting patrol; the young she-cat apprentice is Specklepaw's best friend, and she would get rid of his unease right away.

Green eyes flashed, as a large tom pressed through into camp, with a rabbit hanging limp in his jaws. His gaze flicked to the HighBoulder where Harrierstar stood. With a grunt, he changed his direction and headed straight for his leader. With one leap, he joined him on the large rock. Dropping the rabbit between them, he dipped his head in greeting. "If you're hungry." He mewed simply, and turned to stare out across camp, his tail twitching. Raggedheart's eyes were blank, expressionless. The deputy looked out at the sun, and the rolling green hills. They were his comfort. Raggedheart was a proud cat, extremely thankful for his roots.

Harrierstar dipped his head to his deputy, Raggedheart. They were best friend as kits and apprentices, and they still were very close. Harrierstar trusted him with everything, and he was an excellent deputy.
"Thank you, Raggedheart," he meowed with a smile. "I don't think you mind that I began setting up a border patrol while you were out hunting. I'll be leading it, and you can stay here and watch the Clan while we're out." He paused, looking at the patrol. "Could you please get Lillypaw? I think she's free to go with us, and we need another cat. Also, having a couple apprentices could help them learn our territory better," he added, nodding as if we was agreeing with himself on the idea.
