Riverbank yawned"Next time...I won't go visit Ceaderkit...even IF he's a ThicketClan cat...I still know him and have the right to visit him.."she flicked her tail and looked outside the warrior den.

Aphidkit lay just outside the nursery, letting the sun warm her pelt. She hoped her brother and mother would not be missing her in there - the thing was, she had gotten quite cold and had wanted to come out and sun bathe, but she didn't want to wake anyone to say where she was going. Thats just how Aphidkit was - never wanted to bother anyone. She was a lovely kit in that aspect, really, so polite, so soft spoken. Her flaw was that she was visiously shy around cats she hadn't met, and she was so small. She looked 3 moons old of younger, when she was really 4 moons.
Bearkit wasn't quite like his sister. He wasn't so agreeable with everyone, and he could be annoying to older cats. But he always had energy, that was a good thing. And he was just about the best brother Aphidkit could ask for. Him and her had a rare brother-sister relationship lacking any sibling rivalry what so ever. Bearkit adored his little Aphidkit and would protect her with his life, and Aphidkit herself actually found Bearkit's noncence funny. It was so cute to see them together - especially with those eyes. Aphidkit had a rather plain face herself, and Bearkit oversized ears and nose. But they shared the most beautiful eyes - large almond shaped eyes with long, dark lashes. (yes cats have eyelashes.) Bearkit's green and Aphidkit's blue. They were remarkable.
But at the moment Bearkit was sleeping and Aphidkit's eyes were pissing their pair. She was to deep in thought to miss them, though, untill she heard a grunt, and then a cough, coming from the warriors den. It sounded like a cat in pain. Not many cats were a wake so Aphidkit rose to her little paws and padded to the warriors den. "Are you ok?"n She mewed, poking her head into the entrance, where she saw Riverbank. "Oh, Riverbank, you're a mess. What happened?" She mewed in the adult-sounding way she mewed things. She might look even younger than her already young age, but she sounded and acted much older.

Harlequinpaw opened his eyes. Sunlight flooded his vision, temporarily blinding him. He snarled in pain, shutting his eyes and shaking his head rapidly. After a moment, he opened his eyes once more and padded out of the apprentices' den. He was already in a sour mood. Of course, he was pretty much always sour, but today was even worse. Apart from the sun in his eyes, he hadn't had a dream from his ancestors that night. He needed to know what to do if he was to ever take over the Clans in the name of Silentstep, his father. Harlequinpaw turned his head in both directions, stopping when he spotted Aphidkit, her head stuck in the warriors' den. "You're not a warrior, you know," he meowed, padding up to the kit. "There's no need to be so hasty."

Dewpaw was grooming her paws, licking the soft, light pink pads gently, by the fresh-kill pile. She could see the entire camp from here, and that's where she liked to be when she wasn't doing anything, so she could bounce right into action when she saw something interesting going on. She had just moved to her ruffled chest fur when she spotted Aphidkit peering into the warrior's den, and Harlequinpaw padding towards her.
Oh, this'll be good, she thought, padding closer so she could hear what was going on. She only heard the end of Harlequinpaw's sentence, but knew he was in another grouchy mood.
"Oh, Harlequinpaw," Dewpaw mewed, "She's just a little kit. She doesn't know better." She looked at her fellow apprentice sternly, but she added in a playful look to see if that'd make him lighten up.

"I'm sorry, its just that I heard Riverbank coughing and I wanted to see if she was ok." Aphidkit mewed, Her blue eyes meeting his breifly (She hardly kept eye contact with anyone she wasn't very comfortable with) before they flickered to the ground.

Dewpaw smiled at the kit, even though she was concerned for Riverbank and still annoyed with Harlequinpaw.
"She was coughing?" she asked Ahpidkit, wanting to know if everything was alright.
Could an illness be spreading through the Clan, like the dreaded yellowcough, greencough, or even blackcough that her mother had told her about in the nursery? Thinking about that made her shudder, but she did sometimes overreact - she hoped this was one of those times.

"Yes. But It didn't soung too... violent." Aphidkit mewed, pausing slightly before the last word of her scentance. She hated the word 'violent'.

Dewpaw nodded, but she still showed concern in her eyes.
"Well, that's good. Are you checking on her now? Does the medicine cat know?" she asked.
She'd been known to care a little too much sometimes, and she'd been known to overreact. But she knew she wasn't being too worried this time, just a little concerned.

"No, the medicine cat doesn't know." Aphidkit mewed, her pale blue gaze wandering back to the entrance of the warrior's den. "But shes stopped now. She could have just choked on her spit or something. That happens to me sometimes, you know, when it goes into your lungs?"

Dewpaw nodded with a smile. She wanted to yell at herself for overreacting again, but she didn't.
"So whatcha doing? I'm so bored, since I already went hunting today." she meowed, talking to her like an apprentice and forgetting for a moment, despite her small size, that she was a kit.

"Nothing much. Bearkit was trying to teach me a hunter's crouch - but I don't think he knows what hes talking about." Aphidkit smiled slightly. Bearkit seemed to think he was already an apprentice - though he did watch them allot, and had managed to pick up a somewhat sloppy hunter's crouch.

Dewpaw purred. "Yeah, I've seen him trying to do it. It's not exactly right, but he's doing okay." she meowed, then she thought of something. "Hey, do you want me to teach you how to do the hunter's crouch properly? Then you can show it off to your brother." She smiled.

Harlequinpaw wasn't going to reply to Dewpaw. He wasn't willing to give her the satisfaction of being able to control his emotions with one simple glance. Instead, he sat down, curling his tail over his paws, and listened to Dewpaw conversing with Aphidkit. When he heard what they were doing, he instantly perked up. Perhaps he could teach the kit some fighting moves and practice with her to toughen her up a bit. "Yes, yes," he meowed. "That sounds like fun. Would you mind, Dewpaw, if I taught her some basic fighting moves as well?"

Dewpaw looked at Harlequinpaw. Normally, the tom sort of annoyed her with his attitude, but she was in a good mood, and he seemed like he was, too.
"Sure," she meowed, even adding in a purr.
