Hickorytail frowned as she seen his confused and frightened expression. She remembered when she was a little kit, nightmares were so much worse then. Tilting her head to the side, she watched him, as he layed his head back on his paws. The tip of her tail twitched and she glanced over toward it. Bringing it around slowly, she curled it over Thornkit's body, then lay her own head back on her paws. She allowed her eyes to close again and a million thoughts consumed her. She knew she wouldn't be able to fall asleep, not with these thoughts swarming through her head. But she kept her eyes closed and tried her best to relax. Every few minutes she'd find herself opening one eye, just a slit, to see the dark, dirt walls of the crevice that made the nusery. It was strange to be sleeping somewhere other than the warriors den. Though it felt much more comfortable, there weren't so many other cats around. Just her and Thornkit. Remembering the young kit, she'd shift her vision to him. Was he asleep? Then she'd close her eye again, and think.

He could hear his mother asking him the question. 'Do you want to come with me? Come be a rogue, Thornkit. Don't be a soft clan cat.' he gave a low growl in disgust. Who did she think he was? A traitor? No. He wasn't like his father. He wasn't like his mother. He was Thornkit, proud kit of TimberClan. When he felt Hickorytail's tail wrap around him, he stoped moving, or making any sound, before opening his vibrant amber eyes. He wasn't used to this kind of thing. He was used to being shoved around, and kept in the back of the nursery, quietly watching his mother as she stared out of the entrance. At the thought of his mother, he rolled his eyes, before closing them again. He would have to get used to it. Sometime soon, he would start feeling weak, and he would be begging to join StarClan. But he refused. Even if he was just able to make it to where he was an Apprintice, that would be good enough for him. He would serve his clan before he died, no matter what.

"Pathetic, really.. What drama has to go through here.." a mew echoed through the forest as a dusky brown cat moved through TimberClan, either squeezing under the many dead trees or hopping over them. A small leaf bundle was in its mouth, the wrap revealing a couple of dark purple berries. There was always enough juniper berries in Timberclan, even if enough wasn't enough. Near the muddy pond the land was wet, where the most herbs were found. A single juniper bush was there, as well as marigold, horsetail, and borage, most of the herbs that are necessary to a medicine cat. Juniper berries for strength, and he would need it.. the tomcat thought, his amber eyes narrowed in disgust. He, unseen by any of his Clanmates, had sat in the shadow of his den, blending in well with the few dead trees in the camp. The medicine cat had watched the small scene that had went on with Thornkit and Fernstripe, who was now banned from the clan. A small twing of sympathy jerked in him as he continued to pad. At least he is around two moons.. It might be a while, but he's going to start weaning soon.. he thought; he would sigh, but he couldn't due to the juniper berries. The medicine cat of TimberClan was almost the type to just watch things, then do what he needed to do. As long as it was a challenge, of course. Pinefrost just loved challenges, though he never showed it to any cat. The medicine cat reached the silent camp; it was, after all, night time. Most of the cats were asleep; Pinefrost wasn't an early riser, but one that goes to sleep later than most of the other cats in his clan. I'll give him his meal in the morning.. the tom thought, heading for his den, which was at the other side of the small shallow they made their camp. Squeezing under the few dead trees, he continued to think. Thornkit was about to wean, but it would probably take a few days, and he still needed the nutrition that kits needed until he could eat solid food. Before Pinefrost considered that the kit could eat small, freshly caught fresh-kill that was first chewed by Hickorytail, but that was too risky. Maybe the day after the next sunrise he could, but the next day, he suggested not. What to feed him was the problem. There weren't any nursing queens at the moment, and he was extremely low on supplies. His conclusion came to this; honey with juniper berries. Juniper berries weren't the tastiest things around, but it would give him strength; strength that he needed from not having a mother and strength from not eating the right food. Honey was just a subsitute for milk; it wasn't as easy to digest as a queen's milk, though if mixed properly one way it was enough. He considered as well putting a poppy seed or two into it when it came to giving his meal at night time to help the kit sleep; he could already tell that the kit was probably one awake at the moment. Pinefrost suddenly blink, noticing that he had stopped right in front of his den, which was just a crack in the hollow. Next to it was his den, which he had piled up since he didn't want to sleep in the crevice. The tom squashed himself into the den, not being able to see at all; the darkness of the night and the shadows of the crevice was all it needed to make blindness. The tom padded a foxlength ahead, then turned his head cautiously to his right, being wary not to drop any of his already set herbs. Over here he kept his sweet-smelling herbs; he absolutely enjoyed the scent of herbs. For a moment he allowed himself to drink in the scents, then went back to work. Below the juniper berries, which were a few mouselengths from his nose, he could tell that there was a small amount of honey, sitting neatly on a leaf. It was hard to find leaves around TimberClan, but there were just enough to do his medicine duties. The honey was a dull silver in the darkness; even in the pitch-black it sparkled. He was lucky enough to have honey at all; he found a bees nest in a hollow tree at the edge of their territory, even though there were no flowers around. After being stung plentiful of times, he managed to get a nice supply of honey that would last a while until next time. Pinefrost carefully reached ahead with his neck and set the junpier berries down with the others, there slowly turned around, being cautious not to knock down his herbs. He padded a few more steps forward, towards the entrance of the crevice. Over here the cave widened a bit more, so he could do a few things if he wanted to. A small crack was at the wall, where he could poke in a white paw and get out a poppy seed or two. No poppies grew in TimberClan; he had to ask the other medicine cats for some at Gatherings or when they meet to speak with Starclan. Pinefrost carefully licked his front pad to get it wet, then put his paw into the crack. Being careful, he took out a single poppy seed, an invisible speck on his dark pad. Extremely careful now, he padded out of his den, making sure that he didn't tread on the poppy seed, going towards the nursery. He usually didn't suggest poppy seeds for kits, especially kits that were young; however, he saw no reason why Thornkit should go to sleep easily without any nightmares. He himself had gotten treated badly as a kit, so he knew a little, just a little, on how Thornkit must feel. At least poppy seeds bring a dreamless sleep.. he thought, appearing in front of the nursery, his amber eyes glowing in the darkness. If they were asleep, he would leave; it wasn't worth it to wake up a kit and a she-cat just so that the kit could take a sleeping herb. That wouldn't make sense. His eyes were enough to get the attention of any cat awake, not to mention a kit, but just in case he let out a low, extremely quiet hiss, which one could just barely hear in the silence.

Ghostheart drowsily woke up and went out of the warriors den. You could easily spot her beacase of her white pelt. It outsone everything else. And it also gave her the name. Beacause of the dead trees that non-timberclan cats found spooky her fur made her seem even spookier and also dead as the territory, like a Ghost. It was pretty strange for a clan cat to have white fur but she wasn't clan born. Her mother was a rouge that died a couple of days after Ghostheart opened her eyes in the nursery. So she assumed many cats in her clan still didn't trust her beacase of her rouge blood and would end up like Fernstripe. But she would never do that. Timberclan was her home and she'd always be loyal to it.

All Thornkit could hear was very distant calls of birds, the creaking that was made when the wind pushed against the dead tree branches outside of camp, and Hicorytail and his own breathing. That was, until he heard a hiss. It was so quiet, he almost dismissed it to be something he had only imagined. He could see a cat, outlined by the moonlight, standing in front of the nursery entrance. Careful not to awake the she-cat, he slipped padded over toward the cat, shaking moss from his fur. Once he got close enough, he still couldn't really see the cat, though by the strong sent of herbs, he could tell it was the medicine cat, Pinefrost. Thornkit bowed his head in respect for the medicine cat, showing that he knew his place as one of the lowest ranking members of the clan. "Hello, Pinefrost." he said. He didn't dare question the medicine cat, knowing that he could be here for a number of things, and he didn't want to seem disrespectful. After what his mother had done, he wouldn't blame any cat to be suspicious of him. Kit or not. Thornkit was very small, and he used to only worry about if his mother even cared about him. Now he was feeling so many emotions. Disappointment. Anger. Fustration. All toward his mother. Of corse, being as young as he was, he knew nothing of Pinefrosts past, or Ghosthearts parents, that would have made him feel a little better, knowing that there were cats a little bit like him. Shaking his head, he was brought back to reality. Back to what was happening now. Not what happened or what will happen.

Pinefrost's amber eyes watched the kit as he slowly got up and moved towards him. The medicine cat blinked as he saw Thornkit bow his head to him to greet him. The tabby cat really expected something else from the kit; maybe such as a "What are you doing here?" or just no reply at all. At once he was able to tell that Thornkit was a kit that understood more than kits of his age did. He also knew that kits like these usually come from those who weren't given good care by their parents; Pinefrost himself was one of those kits when he was young. He, too, dipped his head in greeting to the young kit. "Greetings, Thornkit," he mewed quietly, so not to wake up Hickorytail if she really was asleep. "I've heard what had happened from Fernstripe, and I am sorry about it. So much emotions and trouble for one so young.." He murmured, his eyes set onto the kit. Why is it that so much cats had to suffer at a young age? Many times before mothers and fathers left their kits, either going to StarClan by sickness or accidents, or just leaving as rogues. Many kits were hurt, and only a few could be comforted. His mind suddenly snapped back to the real reason why he was in the nursery in the first place; to give the kit the poppy seed that was laying on the pad. If any more time was wasted, it would dry up and fall off, and he would have to get another one. "I am not here to bother you; I'm just wondering if you need help to go to sleep, Thornkit," the medicine cat said, not being surprised if Thornkit thought that he was being suspicious of him. Many cats who were kin to rogues were put on watch by leaders; it was Clan ways. However, he was a medicine cat: it didn't matter to him at all who was a rogue's kin or not. To medicine cats boundaries were put away; he was to help any cat that needed it, even if they were from another Clan or if they were in no clan at all.

Thornkit was silent for a moment. He did have that stupid dream, about his mother and two other rogues attacking him, on TimberClan territory. But did he really need something to help him go to sleep? It was just a dream, after all. Dreams couldn't actually hurt anyone. Plus, a rogue wouldn't usually take on a warrior-like name. Usually they would take the ending off of their name, meaning that Fernstripe would probably be called Fern from now on. Thornkit almost rolled his eyes at this. What a stupid name, to be named after something so unharmful. After all, there were rogues that had different names. Names with power. Mostly, though, the names of the rogues was about all the power they held when in clan territory. Why would a rogue be so stupid as to come into TimberClan, of all places? They weren't used to the territory, like the warriors and apprentices were. Nor like the Medicine Cat, Deputy, and Leader was. So how, in the name of StarClan, could they navigate through TimberClan territory? Then, it hit him. How could he be so stupid? They were basically using Fernstripe.... or Fern, to go anywhere they wanted, quicker then usual. By the time they had done the damage they planned to do, if anything at all, Fern would probably be dead, killed by rogues. While Thornkit wasn't happy about this, he didn't feel sympathy toward the she-cat. She got what she deserved. If she planned to be a traitor, she would be lucky if StarClan let her walk their skies. If she didn't, Thornkit wouldn't really care. He was walking his own path now, as she walked hers. Whatever happened to him, and whatever happened to her, wasn't the others concern. He was brought back to reality, when he had shifted his weight, causing a sharp pebble to stick in his pad slightly. Though it didn't break the skin. Looking back at Pinefrost, he gave a small nod. "I think I might." he said. Even though he didn't think he would absolutely need it, what would be the harm? Just one night of dreamless sleep would do him some good. Wouldn't it?

Ghostheart weant to th camp entrance to post as guard. Which was why she slept , so she could get some energy. Couple minutes past and nothing happened. She heard Thornkit and Pinefrost talking but paid no attention to it since it did not have anything to deal with her. The rest of the hours she was thinking about stuff she kept to herself. Such as if she was better off in Timberclan were cats did not trust her and yet feel safe or leave like Fernmask were she probably would be excepted and yet feel insecure. Then she caught a smell. It smelled of Timberclan and yet not timberclan. She soon felt like she was being wathched. She glared in the direction of were she caught the sent with her one green eye and one blue eye. Soon the scent left and she felt a little bit more relaxed. Whoever it was they left. And she would make sure the cat never came back again. She stayed awake the rest of the night keeping guard

Pinefrost watched as the small kit thought, what was in his mind being unknown to the medicine cat. As the kit thought, the tabby himself drifted away in his mind, his thoughts clouded by herbs. There really was nothing for him to worry about except what to feed the kit, which he had already thought over. His mother didn't leave off to rogues, no. She instead was killed by a shark in LagoonClan, how was unknown. It was a real mystery, but Pinefrost didn't think about it much. Trust his lousy kit-hating mother to get eaten by a shark, eh? He felt no sympathy from her; when she had died, his heart was cold from the rather harsh life she gave him. He barely even cared as her body, covered in scratches, was taken away to be buried. The medicine cat let out a soft sigh, suddenly realizing that the kit in front of him had spoken. The herbs in his mind were brushed away, replaced with new ones. What had Thornkit said? All he had heard was a murmur, but it sounded as if the kit agreed. "Very well then," Pinefrost said, holding out the pad which held the poppy seed. He could just barely feel the tiny speck on the middle of his pad, which was invisible in the dark. "Just lick my pad, there's a poppy seed in the middle. It will take you to sleep soon, so just remember to move over to Hickorytail before you go to sleep. In the morning I'll give you your food," the medicine cat mewed, not bothering to explain what the food will be for the kit. Behind him he was sure he heard a cat moving about; perhaps it was Ghostheart, since she usually stayed up late. He didn't mistrust the she-cat; he was a medicine cat, with no boundaries. She probably was taking night guard anyways; someone was always to do that. The tom brushed that thought away from his mind, his eyes still set on the kit.

Thorn kit nodded, though was only half paying attention. It was some time before he actually responded, which scared himself a little, as he wasn't thinking of anything in particular. He shook it off, guessing it was just lingering thoughts that didn't seem to leave his head, though he wasn't really with them, but somewhere else. Rolling his eyes, he realized that it made no sense at all. He looked at Pinefrost with his vivid amber eyes, and gave a small nod, licking the poppy seed from the medicine cats pad. If he hadn't felt it on his tongue, he would have wondered if Pinefrost had been there for that reason at all. He hadn't felt the small seed as slid down his throat. Shrugging, he dipped his head once more. "Thank you, Pinefrost." he said, before padding over to Hickorytail. He paused for what seemed like forever, before he finally laid down very close to the she-cat, buried his nose in her fur, and slowly fell asleep, without interruptions of annoying dreams.
Green eyes gazed from out of the forest, before a figure neared camp, almost hidden by his brown tabby pelt, that hid him so well. He spotted Ghostheart at the entrance and walked over. "Camp Guard at moonhigh again? Don't you like to sleep?" he asked. His words didn't hide any amusement, but they weren't necessarily harsh and cold either, unlike Larchclaw usually was. Once again, the warrior was found in the forest, hunting late. There had been a time when he had once come back with rogue sent on him, just like Fernstripe, but he also came back with wounds and blood on him. Later on he told the leader he had chased a rogue out of the territory. Only the rogue seemed more like a loner, in it's living style. His pelt was still well hidden, like most cats here. Which is why he could easily spot Ghostheart even before he reached camp, and knew who she was, as her pelt was different from the other cats of Timber Clan. Of course, he had been here this sunhigh, when Fernstripe was banned from the clan. Though he felt no sympathy toward the kit, he believed that Thorn kit had a good chance of surviving.

"You're welcome, young kit, and good night.." Pinefrost mewed, turning around and padding from the nursery. Out in the open, if you can call the camp open, he saw that he was indeed right; Ghostheart was out taking moonhigh watch. Pinefrost, just being able to tell, knew also that another cat was there, but he coud barely see the cat. Seeing the cat's green eyes, the medicine cat was able to tell that they belonged to his brother, Larchclaw. No wonder he hadn't been able to see him well; both of their tabby brown pelts camoflauged well with the pine forest. However, the medicine cat didn't bother to stop and talk to his brother, who was already having a chat with Ghostheart- he and Larchclaw weren't as close as most Clan siblings are, even though they had a harsh kithood. He knew that the talk probably won't be long; he and his brother weren't as nice as most cats around. The medicine cat slinked back to the other side of the small hollow, dipping down in his makeshift nest. As he curled his tail over his nose, he knew that he had to make his nest more sheltered somehow.. But how? They couldn't move dead trees! Oh well, he would think of something later..

Ghostheart greeted Larchclaw with a mew " Hello Larchclaw, and you know how restless I can be during the night." Ghostheart was almost very restless during the night usually squirming becuase of her thinking. It annoyed her denmates very much. And Pinefrost often considered that she took some poppy seed. But she decieded to make a use of her nightime energy by usually taking moonhigh gaurd or hunting during the night when you couldn't see her pelt as much as you could see in the day.

((Well, Rapidglance isn't doimg anything. Here, I'll post.))
Faint rays of sun shone into camp. In Timberclan, the intensity of the few rays of light coming through the maze of trees was the only way to tell the time, since you couldn't see the sun from inside the camp. One of these pale rays landed directly on Rapidglance's face as she slept in the warrior's den. She strirred, then was still for a few moments, before finally blinking open her eyes. She blinked a few times from the light untill her eyes were used to it, then stared at the dim den around her. The other warriors were sillouhettes, there fur colors all blended into lightly varying greys due to the dimness. She finally stood, and stepped out of the den, careful not to wake anyone up. Once outside, it was a bit brighter, and her brownish grey pelt was instantly dappled by the rays of light zigzagged though the camp. She yawned, looking around for any of her friends.
