"I'm sure." Rapidglance mewed absent-mindedly, her thoughts already on something else. Despite how productive she was, her mind tended to wander, which constanly annoyed her brother, when and if he decided to talk to her. She padded toward the tree - you practiaclly had to just open your mouth her and it would be filled with prey. She threw her head over her shoulder, smiling at her friends. "Lets hunt!" She mewed.

Ghostheart looked right behind her to see the clan deputy Ruggedclaw calling her for a patrol. "Sure, Ruggedclaw I'll join, I have nothing else to do. Where are we heading?" She said while padding to him

"I was thinking maybe near the swamp? And around there. The scent-markings could use some renewing as well. He smiled and twitched his tail as the words left her mouth. Finally something to do, and he wouldn't be alone. "Would you like to see if anyone else would like to accompany us?" he sat back on his muscular haunches and awaited her answer.

WinterStorm walked over to the deputy, Ruggedclaw. "Ruggedclaw, may I join your patrol?" She asked kindly. She was bored of just sitting around camp all lazy like.

Getting to his paws he Ruggedclaw nodded to the other warrior. "Of course WinterStorm. They more the merrier!" he said and smiled.

Wolfhowl quickly abliged. "I'm more than ready to sink my claws into - " he said, cut off by a flutter of wings nearby. Dropping down into the hunter's crouch, he crawled toward the sound, making sure he was silent. Through a few plants and grass, he spotted a thrush on a small log near the giangantic fallen tree. It was standing there, cleaning its feathers, not seeming to notice the cats yet. Wolfhowl paused, and felt the wind blowing towards them, so the bird had not caught their scent. He stalked forward stealthily, waiting in the brush for a few moments before he leaped, claws extended. The thrush spotted him as he was flying towards it, but it had no time to fly away. Wolfhowl landed hard on the bird's chest, and sunk his claws in. He quickly bit down on the neck, snapping the bone, and ending its life quickly. Grabbing the prey in his jaws, he felt pride flow through him that he had caught the first prey out here. His competitive streak was showing again.
Just as Wolfhowl was walking out to where he'd left Mousewhisker and Rapidglance to bury his catch, he saw Mousewhisker kicking dirt over a squirrel. He growled to himself, silently telling himself that he could do better than this. All the pride seeped out of him as he grudgingly buried his catch. Shaking his pelt free of dirt, he decided that now he'd try to catch the most prey out of all of them. Determined and confident, he bounded off into the underbrush again.
Mousewhisker had seen her brother walk up and see her burying her catch. She knew him well enough to know that he was being all competitive again. With a sigh followed by a smile, Mousewhisker shook her head and padded back towards the swamp, following the scent of a water vole.

Paleflower scraped a small layer of dirt over her fresh-kill, and dropped into a crouch again with her ears pricked. Her jaws parted slightly, and she took in the forest scents. Today was her lucky day. Testily, she put a paw down and peeked past the tree in front of her. Sure enough, a chickadee had landed there a short moment ago. What are you doing here, lonely little chickadee, she wondered. There is not enough sun for such a happy bird. It had its back to her, and she was down wind. As quietly as she could, she slunk around the tree and hid in a fern. Bunching up on her haunches, she inhaled. Moments later she had the feathery creature hanging limp in her mouth. Whispering a short prayer of thanks to Starclan, she buried the bird next to her last catch.

Rapidglance was gone after Wolfhowl's first word. She glided across the ground - it was nearly flat her since they were near the sawmp and there weren't near as many fallen trees. She had already picked out a mouse - sitting unknowing, nibbling on a seed. It had no idea this would be it's last meal. She lifted each paw carefully, and set it down just the same, untill she was close enough to see each of it's tiny whiskers. Then, without hesitation, she lept, her claws digging into the soft flesh. A bite to the neck ended it's life before it could squeal and scare off the other prey. She examined it as she always examined her prey - it was a plump one alright. It must have bee a bit heavy on the seeds. Good for her, anyways. She picked it up and carried it back to the others.

Mousewhisker caught a water vole, a mouse, and a thrush before she paused in the main clearing, taking a break. She knew her fellow hunters had caught quite a few pieces of prey already, and so she sat quietly as not to scare away anything they might be stalking.
Wolfhowl leapt into the air, claws extended, aiming straight at a swallow. The bird squalled and began to unfold its wings, but the brown tabby warrior was already on its shoulders. The creature let out another short cry before Wolfhowl quickly ended its life. He stepped off the bird and lifted it into his mouth, carrying his catch back to the clearing. He found his sister there, sitting beside her buried prey and grooming her coat. He quickly buried his swallow, then turned to her.
"Are you done hunting?" he asked, sitting down beside his sister.
Mousewhisker finally looked up. "Yeah, I think we caught enough," she replied. "I caught a vole, two squirrels, a mouse, and a thrush."
Wolfhowl remembered about trying to out-catch Mousewhisker and Rapidglance. "Well, I caught a thrush, two mice, a squirrel, and a swallow," he said quickly, trying to remember everything he'd caught.
Mousewhisker smiled, realizing he was being competitive again. "Well, we're tied. We caught the same amount of prey."
Wolfhowl let out a huff of annoyance, then glared at the ground. "Well...okay. Whatever, then. Let's just wait for Rapidglance, then go back to camp." he muttered.
Mousewhisker knew he was trying to sound like he was calling off the competition, but she knew him well enough to know that he was just waiting to see if Rapidglance had more or less than him. She sighed, then began licking her paw and drawing it over her face.
